Let us introduce you to The Arts & Business Council of Greater Phoenix.
For more than 20 years their mission has been to grow leaders and inspire involvement in the nonprofit community. Its goals are community revitalization and engagement.
They do this by ensuring that arts/cultural nonprofits are sustainable through Business Volunteers for the Arts, its volunteer match program. Business Volunteers for the Arts provides technical assistance to arts groups who don’t have the resources to pay for help in areas such as, strategic planning, finances, graphic design, and marketing plans, to name a few. They engage volunteers to perform what they are good at and in the meantime, get to experience true art. They provide this kind of help to more than 40 organizations a year.
They also work to ensure that every person interested in being on or currently on a nonprofit board knows their responsibilities. Business on Board, its ground-breaking innovative program, trains business professionals in the art of board governance. To be proficient as a board member you need to know your responsibilities, be able to read financial statements, fundraise and be able to advocate for your group…you learn all that and more! A plus to this program is that they seek to populate boards (arts/cultural and health and human service) with engaged, educated leaders. To date more than 300 professionals have graduated this program and most are matched to nonprofit organization boards.
Benefits for supporting the Arts & Business Council include: invitations to fundraising and networking events; company or personal listing on its website; knowing that you are helping your community and supporting arts and culture.
